The journey doesn’t end when baby arrives, it is just the beginning. Britt offers overnight and daytime postpartum care to nurture parents into their new roles. As parents experience success and their knowledge and self-confidence grows, postpartum support will scale down  slowly until the new family decides that the parental wings have grown strong and they are ready to fly! Postpartum care typically lasts 1 - 2 months.

Night Support

Overnight doula support can be just what parents need; an *almost* full night of sleep. Britt supports baby’s feeding schedule (with mom if breastfeeding or solo if bottle feeding) while parents are able to sleep through diaper changes, burping, and easing baby back to sleep. Being able to sleep through those routines and not worry when you hear baby, can be much more beneficial than most people realize.

Hours & Fees

Night support hours can ranges from 8 - 10 hours per night.

** Currently not offering night support **

Fee: $45/hour, $50/hr for twins.

A one month contract is set before baby arrives and can be adjusted as needed after that first month.

Day Support

Daytime support can be very helpful in adjusting to having your new one at home. A postpartum daytime doula helps parents feel comfortable and confident in caring for their newborn by understanding and validating their intuitive abilities. Care may include:

  • Offering encouragement, non-judgmental support, and education.
  • Ensuring adequate sleep, nutrition and hydration for mama during recovery period. This can include snuggling baby while parents catch a nap, cooking nutritious food, and preparing sitz bath for mama.
  • Assisting with newborn care and baby needs. This can include everything from diaper changes to infant massage.
  • Offering tips for infant care and feeding, as well as breastfeeding support.
  • Light housekeeping, running errands, baby's laundry, etc.
  • Relaxation and soothing techniques for baby, coping skills for parents.
  • A caring companion during physical and emotional recovery, supporting the family as a whole in this transition into parenthood.
  • Suggesting appropriate referrals when needed.

If parents do not have a lot of experience with newborns or other support systems in place, this day to day support can be very beneficial in the initial adjustment period of being new parents.
